The Bathroom

The bathroom, probably more than any other room, is the best example of the modern facilities that Olveston had.

Many of the luxuries we now take for granted were, in 1907, way ahead of their time, specific examples being a shower...

...and a heated towel rail.

Though not confirmed, the majolica wall tiles are thought to have been made by Mintons, at Stoke-on-Trent, England, who were producing tiles of this kind to meet Moorish fashion in the late part of the 19th century.
