The Billiard Room
| An obvious essential
in this room is the billiard table. This table is full-sized, with
a slate base. The slate is about 50 mm (or two inches) thick. As
the table weighs over two tons, the floor is reinforced. |
 |
 |
The height of
the table lights can be adjusted and a pulley beside the chimney
controls windows above the table. These could be opened to allow
pipe and cigar smoke to escape. |
| The room also
houses many precious examples of Japanese furniture and items collected
over many years by the Theomins. |
 |
 |
 |
The original
billiard rack and scoreboard are masterpieces of details. |
 |
| The billiard room
hosts an impressive collection of Punch cartoons. |
