Dorothy's Bedroom and Sitting Room
| When the Theomins
moved into Olveston in 1907, their daughter Dorothy returned from
finishing school in Roedean, England. The effects of her schooling
are very apparent in this, her bedroom and her adjoining sitting
room. |

As a young lady
of seventeen, and a typical teenager, it wasn't long before she had decorated
her rooms with trinkets she collected as well as paintings, toys,
and ornaments. |
| The sitting room
is the plainer of the two rooms but the colour scheme flows harmoniously
into the bedroom. The decorative French design of her bedroom was
very popular in the early 1900's. Dorothy's bedroom was restored
and reopened to the public in 1995. |
