| When the Theomin
family moved into Olveston, Edward was twenty-two. Edward lived
at Olveston for only a short time before he served overseas. This room underwent considerable
renovation and careful restoration in the early 1990's and was opened
to the public for the first time in 1994, 66 years after Edward's
death. |

The fine oak
furniture and decoration of this room were mainly from the Art
Nouveau period and were considered very modern for the time. |
| Edward spent two
years (1917 - 1919) on active duty in Europe and married Ethel Mocatta in London. On their return,
the newly-weds set up home just down the road at 8 Royal Terrace. |
